I got an 86 Toyota Pickup 4x4, it was given to me by my dad. He bought it brand new (his first new car ever) it had 3 miles on it, it now has 227k+, engine still runs great (reliable little 22r's, gotta love em), same transmission, clutch has only been replaced once, transmission is still original, everything is original, lot of the body is going to **** (damn rust), but it still gets from a to b. ha and it has an UPGRADED 86 radion hahaha... lol... looking to restore this lil beast into something sick...lol could be a while tho (would have pictures but i just got my new 24in imac today and dont got any on it yet)
same thing happened to me, except in the rain, i ended up busting my taillight on a tree n gettin two lil dents, one above the light and one below my Ruby has been through to much with me, but damn i love her!
So the past month I was utterly sick.. was in the Timing chain recovery mode... I hate it! But we got running but some damn reason i'm getting a Code 25 here and there... not liking it He cleaned out the glovebox for me... good gawdamn... We found SO MUCH stuff in there... especially from 1994... and sauce packs.. like mustard.... it was rock solid... YUCK!! then last night he went to the races, cept he brought a friend along, a Honda 2008 4-wheeler, surprisingly that thing fitted in my bed!!
My Toyota history doesn't go back all that far. I've always had Fox Mustangs, since I was 17. I had my '92 LX for about four years and then in December of 2005 it was totalled when I got rearended by a hit-and-run driver in an S10 4x4. I needed a vehicle and a guy in my local shooting club was selling his '86 4Runner. I didn't know anything about them but did some research on Yotatech and figured it was a good buy. Got it and loved it. It was my daily driver for almost three years, with moderate wheeling and camping mixed in. When my parents' neighbor, a family friend for many years, was selling his '85 2wd xtracab last fall, I jumped on it. I know the 22R series is phenomenal due to my experience with the 4Runner, and the li'l truck has just reinforced that. And I just put my Mustang SVO up for sale this afternoon, with the proceeds to go into the Runner (regear and maybe new motor) and the 2wd (tires for my 18's, lowering and paint). When those are done I'll probably save up and get a Supra or another Mustang, but as I've had a Mustang for the last seven years I'd like to change it up a little bit and stay with a Toyota. Plus, we're trying to sell or trade my girlfriend's '01 F150 for a third-gen 4Runner, so eventually we'll have an all-Toyota fleet.
