Anyone ever went outside OEM parts to replace the nut that goes onto the valve clearance adjusting screw?

I just re-installed the head and was flipping through the Toyota bible and it specified torque specs at 18ft. lbs. for the adjustment nut. Not sure what I was thinking, went in for the kill, and ended up threading the nut. Now it just keeps on spinning and spinning.

Just wanted to know if anyone ever ventured out of OEM to get it fixed.

Sometimes, when you think it’s a bad idea and you’ve never done it before and the way you’ve done things before never caused any serious problem, until you tried something new that pertains to that judgment, ends up prevailing itself as a bad fkn idea?!
