so finally .. I believe this is the LAST thing I have to "fabricate" the canopy .. as you can see it's in really bad shape .. it's fixable , but for the time I would spend fixing it (and it has been done at least once before) I figure I might as well make a new one , with NEW and ADVANCED products . .
little bit more today .. got the rear seatbelts installed , also finished the install of the GPS , finished wiring the rear camera and the rear lower seat locks .. also the roll bar is now installed .. I was working on the jack and tools install , but was interupted , and had to take it for a little ride again around the compound .. talked to the interior guy and the seats are in the works .
some progress , notice no more sag on the roof .. sanded , and very first primer .. good from far !! lots of work yet to do to make it right .. .
i thought so, but i wasnt sure if he had to fix up the old one first to be able to make the new mold..i dont know what all goes into makeing a copy of something..thats y i asked..
yeah .. so far that is the original top .. lots of bodywork so far and this is what I have .. looks much better in the pics , as it still need lots of work before I can build a NEW fiberglass mold but it's coming ..... .
continuing on with the roof ... My boy and I blocked out the second primer filled ,sanded and primed now for the 3rd time .. it's finally time to wet block .
so out and about today .. I was driving buy my interior guys place , and I thought I would stop in to see if any progress on the seats .. yes .. a little sample of the NEW seats .. .
I picked up some plastic "dip" from a local supplier on Monday .. looking at doing the battery hold down in some what of a factory finish .. + I just wanted to try it I took the J bolt and sand blasted it and dipped it .. turnd out well .. also .. got the roof wet sanded .. almost ready to go .
little bit more work on the roof today .. but I mostly concentrated on the seat tracks .. got them all cleaned up , (wow , lots of work) and painted .. and dropped them off at the uhpolstery shop .. and wow .. the front bottoms are done I love em !! .
I love that attention to detail. cleaning and painting a set of seat tracks like that is truly one of the crappiest jobs ever
thanks dude .. all good things come in due time .. believe you me , I workin' on it !! I dare ya ... you try it one of the worst pieces I did , they suck .. took almost all day .. .
