Somehow it started having a oil leak. I parked it and didnt check oil for a while, and yeah. Theres a tapping noise now, no matter what gear im in, from 1500-3K RPM. I ****ed it up major.

 

yeah idoit i know, probably going to have to have it rebuilt again.

yeah much easier i think that the 22r-et heads flowed a little better also if i remember correctly nothing you couldn't fix

 

Mine has a slight tapping sound, also. I've heard it's normal for these motors.

 

only noise i really hear is like a rubbing noise, idk if its coming from my rear brakes or wut... any ideas?

the valve train almost always makes noise you should hear mine after i put that 270/430 cam from engnblder in cant wait to get my DT header she ripps as it is how many miles are on the rebuild?

can you tell where the leak is from? i had one after i put about 100 miles on the motor didn't drip enough oil to lower it on the dipstick but it was enough to bother me.. you re torque your head bolts and re adjust your valves already?

 

Mine ticks when I'm at a lower cruising speed, 25-35 mph, depending on what gear I'm in.

 

A shop rebuilt it for me. Enough oil leaks that eventually it shows on the dipstick.
one leak looks like it comes from where the trans mounts to the engine
another one is if your looking at the 22RE sticker, on the left theres that metal hook ****, right there

first change was 1K
2nd 4K then he said its broken in and can run synthetic.

 

that's strange i don't hear ticking majorly when i am driving mine... just when its idling i need to re adjust my valves again.. Goin to bed pz

 

luckily i dnt hear a ticking sound... knock on wood
