there used to be a lady at the local toy lot, loved when I would come in asking for parts for my 77, it was her excuse to dig out the micro film since none of it was in the computers She managed to fine me a few things that way including a NOS emblem for the grill
Got the two bushings from the Toyota dealer for less than 8 bucks total. Took less than an hour to remove and install- very easy to do. And yes, just as good as new- very tight and no noise when driving over the ground. Here is a good write up: http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/maintenance/idler/
good stuff... Went to my grandpas, have my truck parked there so it looks like someone is home.. well I noticed my front yard smells like gear oil.. saw a small stain in it driveway.. my tranny is leaking... Its dripping from the trans mount so IDK where it would be coming from.. now that I think of it, the shifter only has 4 out of 6 bolts... I forgot to put the other 2 but I dont think that would be it..
Today I discovered a few things about the alternator. 1 of which being why mine does not work !... I guess Like my starter.. the alt is grounded by its casing to the braket to the freaking block... well I painted the braket, and I painted the block !!! FML! I never should have done that.. but what does not make sense to me... THE FREAKING BRACKET WAS PAINTED FROM THE FACTORY ?!? is it some special kind of paint that allows it to still be a functional ground ??? or did I get a super rare 24k black gold bracket ??? LMAO so tomorrow after work I will fix it : ) and hopefully the stupid fhker will have no more problems.... well after I fix the oil leak and tranny fluid leak.. fawk. lol good night fellas
Maybe they painted everything but where the bolt goes. If anything just run a new bigger wire and ground it in a different place. wont do any harm.
im one happy ****ing camper today!! finally all the work paid off and i can drive this damn thing now (legally anyway)!!!!! yes yes and more yes!!!
Contemplating a camper shell.... maybe. Never liked the things but they do come in handy when you have gear and gear doesn't like to be wet, and you live in the Northwest and it's always at least a LITTLE wet. gotta be something I can take off easily. Those clamps they use sometimes easy?
