adjusted the throttle kickdown cable for my transmission. last time i touched it was two years ago. for the past two years, it was a hair extra sensitive.
40mph cruise, slightly put foot on gas to get up to 45 and it'll jump down a gear.
if i wanted it to upshift, i had to slightly lift up my foot, like a manual.

now it does its job as is :)

Tore the bench seat from my 94 and the steelies from it and put on my 91 so I can keep my 4runner seats and decent rims since the kid who bought it doesnt give a ****. I almost shouldnt sell it to this kid kinda seems hes gonna make it a worse hack job than it already is. Oh well money talks

I kickdown will down shift 2 gears instead of 1 when you slam on it.

    I think.

the tire leaks air, and its really hard to tell by looking at the tire which is only .8 of an inch in sidewall to see its flat before I take off... the tire pops off the bead as im turning the truck around and breaks the valve stem..I just need to pay more attention before I hop in and take it for a short cruise

Nah, the automatic transmission A43D is ran by hydraulics, older design.
The "kickdown" cable really serves like a TPS for the transmission, it'll figure when the truck should down or upshift relative to throttle position.

DROPT, where you located? We got a bunch of snow in the mountains too already, down to 4000 feet, all of Mt Hood is covered now, pretty much in a week.

As for my truck, I heard the telltale sqeaking and whistle of a TO bearing going south.... so far it still shifts OK, we'll see how long that lasts.

That's OK, on friday I'm picking up a 2011 Scion xB as a commuter / gear hauler. The Toyota PU is going to be for hauling, for the dump, Home Depot trips, and other stuff. My Chevy was really getting high on the mileage and I needed something that doesn't get 18mpg average. I'll post pics if anyone is interested.
