Lmao ok. I already started telling people that if they want more horsepower to wrap the exhaust. They get a good laugh. The science might be there but the gains are not. The big boys are the only ones that can benefit and they don't wrap. Why act like we got something really to gain then and what they do is irrelevant?

I'll point out to funny cars use the trust from the exhaust to help propell them. Wrap could potentially help volcity. Why don't they use them?

Lmao boring topic. This was more interesting. Didn't really want to debate.

Got to keep the site alive.

Heck yes man! Aint that a good feeling?

I had tried double bolting, vice grips, heat, all of it, and mangled the stud so bad, but pop that baby on, and it came right out. Exhaust studs are tricky because they are all welded and hardened in.

Lucky you had some sticking out, my current problem is stuck in my exhaust manifold and now has a bolt extractor bit broken off in it:

yikes! I would probably have someone else try that for me. Yeah I’m glad I didn’t have to try to drill it out.

Get you some anti seize on the new ones. If you got locking nuts it will probably pull the stud everytime you unbolt it but less likely to happen again.

You can get that out with a MIG welder and some mad welding skills, Just zap zap zap the stud until you get a good size blob on the end that you can get your vice grips on to it. The heating and cooling of the MIG welder seems to help loosen it.

I know this got derailed but the rag joint definitely improved the steering feel of the truck. I only went around the block because the truck is criminally loud right now but I can definitely tell a difference. I would say if you pull the exhaust manifold/headers do the rag joint.

Been needing to do mine. That's the last steering part I need to order. Still need to install most of parts. Fighting weather and it's not top priority driving it. Need to make a day of doing stuff like that. I got everything playing a role in my slop. Also not having two sledgehammers to pull the joints is stopping me.

I couldn't have pulled mine apart without a pickle fork, pretty much my favorite tool ATM. I would also hit everything with PB blaster. All I have left on my rack are bushings but i'd have to get pretty damn bored to do that.

On my driver's side tie rod the pickle fork was no good. My friend came in and told me if you take 2 heavy sludge hammers one for hitting one for backing the joint will get deformed and come right out. He want to the repair shop across the street for an air hammer and came back with the sludge hammers. We did it and like magic it dropped right out.

Lol wouldn't say always but in the case of tie rods it works wonders. It will be my go to for them.
