I recently picked up an 88 standard cab shortbed. Has a 2" body drop, cranked torsions and flipped upside down leafs mounted to top of axle. I put a set of 15s on to see how it sat, and here it was. I am doing a prerunner project so it already has a bit of a lift. I flippes the springs to be arched and took the torsions all the way up. Debating a build thread here since it is a 2wd Toyota but not the norm here. I'm not on 4wd sites, I just love it here lol
F it do a build thread. I wonder how it rode with flipped leafs. Did you snap a pic of how it was set up?
I probably will throw a thread up. And I don't know how it rode but I have before and after pics ill post eventually.
Here is where mine is at right now. The shocks are bottoming out bad, they only have about 1/2 inch travel if that.
so just put new 18s on my truck gotta drop it back down now but im already running 5 in blocks in the rear how much do you think i can pull out of removing the center leaf in the back. if not how much can you pull out of flipping the rear leafs and how much of a pain is it. i know the front torsions can be played with quite a bit all i did before was spindles and a bj flip. haven't even cut the bumpstops yet. im not afraid to cut the wheel wells just havent had a reason.... yet will have pics up soon working on a temp paintjob now tired of it being 5 colors
You are going to need to c notch the frame in order to pull the center leafs since you are already on 5 inch blocks.
damn hoping i could get another couple inches before i had to do that guess ill have to suffer not scraping everything till i can afford it. at least the paint job looks decent its in the gallery cuz photobucket wasnt wanting to work
Speaking of scraping everything, I hit a small dip while changing lanes this morning and scraped on the little lane reflectors.
4" blocks in the back. Cranked torsions and BJ flip in the front (no washers). 15" rims. Forgot the tire sizes, but I believe 205-65 rear, and 195-60 front.
Sweet ride Firetruck. I know I'm already on this thread, but had to post after another one like mine. BJ flip, LCA, Spindles up front. Belltech leafs and custom streetaco blocks out back.
It rides pretty low... swapped the wheels today for mustang gt wheels NOT SURE YET ON HOW TO POST A PIC ON A THREAD?!?!?! NEW TO THE SITE!!!! SOMEONE PLZ HELP SO I DONT HAVE TO POST LINKS!!!!
My '73 has 4 inch blocks out back, 3.5 coils cut up front with the rubber coil isolators removed, and I believe I'm on 205/60/15s.
Whats up bro where did you buy ur tail lights from? I just picked up an all stock virgin 89 yota pick up white like yours any tips
I had those same rims years ago. Drop is nice, have any other plans? Not sure if its just me, but your 2nd pic is upside down.
Yah sorry about that upside down pic... Still deciding if static or bags... And the cheapest way too..lol
