And my trans yuu have to unbolt the shifter from the tower instead of push down like the short shifter.
yea i just take the tin plate with 4 10mm/phillips head screws out pull the shifter out remove reminents of plastic bushing cup get a 1/2" section of tubing [in my case i use a cut off handle bar from my bobber] and one of those clear plastic caps that go over a o2 sensor when it in the box drop the plastic cap into the tube place over shifter reinstall into trans it will be a little touchy till it gets broke it but it the closest thing to a short throw you can get out of a stock shifter my 2nd to 3rd shift is like 2 in" i have a celica shifter but it would work on the long arm truck ones too plus its a good "junk drawer fix it-at 11pm" kinda thing any way any more questions hit me up
I used a file & just kept working a little @ a time . It's hard to keep it perfectly round . I used calipers to keep checking it! If I remember correctly it wasn't a lot to remove!
What I did to mine was got a hand vise grip tool and locked it to the long shift bar and moved it and took it off and there is a short one on the bottom and its like a short shifter for me I like it plus didnt spend money on it
I fully plan on building my own. I've got 1/2" and 1" UHMW to make the spacer out of and cutting the tip of the shifter to extend it isn't exactly rocket surgery...
