so who wants to help a brother out? i need a timing cover on the cheap or fo fwee.

it appears the part on the cover that is all gnared and gone now was crucial as it allowed oil to puddle up under the gear and keep it properly lubricated, id be kinda hesitant to put it back on like that

Well that looks like it sucks. There's tons of parts around man, I see 20R/22R stuff on CL all the time for hella cheap. just do some searchin' and I bet you can score a new front cover for $25 or less.

Just a thought for you... where do you think some of that metal that came off the gear and front cover went? I'd drop the oil pan if I were you....

bro. you have to buy a new timing chain which comes with the gear... I have a new timing cover i installed but never ran the motor with if you want it for 30 bucks shipped. I also have the oem timing chain from my motor with roughly 80 to 120k miles on it... mileage is really unknown cuz my truck was towed behind a rv for 10 years. then sat for 5 years only being driven 1 mile twice a week.

is that stock oem stuff? reason i ask is because the timing set i bought was a duralast one from vatozone and they guides look real cheap. if its oem i might want those guides and cover if i cant use mine any longer.

havnt had any problems with any of the timing parts, i am skeptical of the HGs tho. I originally did my headgasket around 120k with this Rock kit from engbldr. It just blew over the summer pushing 160k, i think it was my fault tho, i ran it hot..so i said fck it and bought a new engine..which come to find out has a rock HG:brickknock:..fingers crossed it lasts..
