Why did I have to steal it? Why does somebody else have to be doing it to make it cool?

Haha thanks man. I actually got the windshield from my old pickup. Its got a crack in it but still lol, no hole!

On another note. I've got no hi or low beams and no power from either of the connectors. I've also got no alternator charge. Any ideas? Are there any relays I should look for? Im still not 100% on where everything is.

Right now Im trying to figure out the wiring issue. Ive got some funky issues that need to be addressed. The main problem I seem to be having is that the harness actually doesnt seem to be getting any juice and I think that may be due to PO making so making "fix-it" jumps. Ive got the whole battery side harness yanked and dissected and i found main power to the harness being routed through the headlights back into the cabin. Sooooo I think the first thing Ill do is run a fresh power cable back to the fuse block. Things Ive found wrong thus far is the alternator is brand new but isnt charging the battery, so there must be something thats keeping that from happening.

    Thats next lol

Did you by chance check the fusible links at the battery, double wire connected to the positive battery post, goes back to a plug-in, one is the main power, the other is the headlights, headlights are wired direct to the battery through the fuse link as a safety deal so the lights will continue to work if fuses under the dash blow. also check the under dash fuse labeled engine, have seen that fuse cause problems many times while still looking fine, check it, and both sides of the fuse block contacts with a meter and not by eye.

So I did some tinkering on the harness by splitting it open and learning where everything goes. I found that besides the scary battery jump all the jumps I had seen before where factory jumps so that's ok. I salvaged the old clip and power line from my other truck and reatached them so my mail power is back to factory. All though in the process I discovered nothing that looked abnormal in relation the headlights.

Quick question, if someone could give me a crash coarce on all the sensors that would be sweet none of mine are actually marked. Such as the black box on the drivers side kick panel.

But in all the fuss I seem to have dissconected the electric pump the PO had put in. He jumped the power cable from the fuse box, ran it into the bay and then down and under. First thing is the dumb answer to see if it just needs fuel.

HEAD LIGHTS YOU WILL NOT ESCAPE ME!

Sorry I can't help you with any pictures as I removed the fuse links on mine, did some major rewiring, and run a fuse block under the hood instead.
I,m sure someone will be able to post up a picture of the original fuse link, if not its just a ring connector connected to the positive battery cable at the battery post, about 6 inches long with a 2 wire plastic plug connector that plugs into the mate connector that goes into the wire harness on the passenger fenderwell. the fuse links are just fuseable wire that melts or burns in half under the covering just like a fuse blows, but they are capable of handling higher amperage than fuses.

Awesome thanks for the info Nook, ill check that out for sure.

On another note I did get the alternator back as well as the fuel pump so I used my sudden good luck with replacing the beat to hell header gasket and now she sounds like a beauty! Fires right up, barely gets through a crank lol. But in order for me to finish the motor business I have to get the coolant lines sorted. For that I need to know the coolant paths. Right now the only one I need to solve is the line that comes from the center coolant path on the head (between the intake mani) that would, if i remember right, have gone into the carb. But seeing as I no longer need that line I need to know what to do with it.

All issues solved! Seems the headlight relay disappeared at some point, could have been integrated into the vacuum assembly I trashed.

Thats good you got things working properly, originally the headlight relay is mounted under the dash next to the steering column, but someone may have moved it at some time
As for the water outlet on the head between the center intake runners, your right, originally used for the water choke, so it can be capped off.

Awesome info on the water choke. For the relays what I found is on the right side there's the fule pump relay and then on the left is another 2 prong relay labled "Buzzer" but nothing headlight. Ill dig a little bit harder tonight

So I did a bit of work on the truck today by making a block off plate for the old carbs water choke and it worked out very nicely.

But I need to find a home for the other water lines. Heres what i have.

This one is the line coming up from the intake manifold.

    Out of the firewall.

Ok so here's what I have going on right now.

The line coming from the "water choke" was running into the firewall wich makes me think it goes to the heater core. Another was the one coming from the back side of the water pump via the steel pipe running the length of the block so using another length of pipe I plumbed those two together. Then looking at my manifold, another manifold, andother head, another motor, and my side draft manifold I decided the the small pipe running up out of the manifold is probably useless so im going to plug it and see what happens. Hopefully the coolant path is correct.
