Got some new wheels, 17x9 +22. Really want to try and get some 275/40/17 falken tires to wrap them in before the next autocross on the 15th

Also still need to get a bucket seat before then too..... I need some quick cash, hopefully I can sell my old 17x8 mustang wheels and those new 245/40 tires I put on them in time before the 15th :/

So I picked this up for cheap because the tags are from last year and didn't have any paperwork...... otherwise I'd be to tempted to slam it and daily drive it lol but a perfect doner for a 1uz swap, (220k on it for those who are curious)

220k on 1uz is just broken in. Get some sc400 exhaust manifolds.

The ls400 oilpan places the engine forward. The valve cover will clear the brake booster and e-brake pulley on the fire wall.

The sc400 oilpan places the engine very close to the firewall and the brakebooster must be "massaged" to clear the valvecover and the e-brake pulley must be removed.

I've been a vulture from time to time haha

Well for now the 22rte is hummin along in the truck, thought about selling the swap. If the price was right I'd let the whole 22rte swap go though.... everything always has a price lol

Will the LS manifolds not fit? How far forward will the LS pan place the engine? I've heard of everyone using the SC pan so I didn't think you could use the LS one.

The LS manifolds will not clear the upper control arms. The LS oil pan will work but you will have to remove the steering stabilizer and extend the Trans mount 2 inches. I used 2" plate stock from Home Depot. Perfect width and gauge matched the trans mount,

Oh dang, 2" forward is rather substantial....... may have to find all the SC stuff then

So I got a lower valance from a rodeo (not the one I wanted but price was right) got it trimmed around the intercooler to help hide the ugly and redid the lower ic pipe so it tucked better

Been wanting to work on the truck but my parents, sister, grandma, great grandma and my wife and I all had to evacuate because of the fire... Here was the view from my parents house before they evacuate. Luckily all our houses survived but my great grandma got a lung infection from the smoke and passed away. She had a good run (89 yrs) and we were able to be with her and say our goodbyes, she was a rock of a woman and will forever be an encouragement and testimony to me and our family.

so Back to the build.... ??

I’ve been wanting to make a nascar style bed cover/spoiler for a while now and was lucky enough to run it through our business so I set about getting it made and mounted with dzus fasteners. I changed out the screws for some Allen head ones today

Welded the tabs down the inside of the bed rails

Next step was to weld the open diff because spinning the inside tire is no fun

Forgot to take an after picture so you’ll just have to take my word for it lol

Road tested the truck and HOLY COW this thing works!!! So much more rear grip even at slower speeds, so worth the time and money!!

Been a little while, I warped my cover while trying to weld on some gussets.... I’m an idiot I know

After that I pulled a 2 day autox and got lots of bitchen pictures from a fellow racer (has the black m3 in the booty shot). Saturday I broke an endlink so the truck had issues pushing all day and got stuck running in the 42 second range (fastest car was 36-37 slowest was 55)

Saturday night I patched up the endlink and made it for day 2 and let me tell you what... the truck was straight MOVIN!!!!! I broke into consistent 39’s with a low of 39.7. (Fastest on the new layout was 35 but keep in mind that’s a zo6 with 345 Hoosier slicks and I’m still on a 245/40 320 treadwear tire). The truck kicked ass and a lot of people loved the truck and spent all day trying to catch it. I might have to break down and get some real rubber for the next race

    Till next time

Xtracab for the win, having driven in my first snow in a short box and almost losing it while minding my own business, I can say 100% that the xtracab is the way to go when adding power to these trucks.

Well not much has been done lately as I’ve been sinking more money into my Plymouth then I really should, hope you don’t mind but I want to share a couple pics with you guys cus I think it’s cool and I got a cool new tool

383ci sbc 8:1 pistons, engine built to handle 30psi

And my new tool from icengineworks makes building custom headers soo much easier and fun

But I did get a new 2.5” cat and vibrant resonator welded onto the truck and new wideband so I can turn up the boost
