Maintanance I am using a 3.0L radiator I have for this truck. It will provide excellent cooling. And I think I need to replace the fuel filter. There is hesitation when I press the gas. It's hard to keep the rpms up. It's really hard to reach the fuel filter too! I'll have to bust up some knuckles.
it just has to work I welded up a complete exhaust. And I installed a new fuel filter. It actually wasn't that hard. It's easy to see if take off the passenger side tire and go in from there. Also put in the 3.0L V6 radiator. It runs smoother now. And the exhaust is quiet. But it exits under the cab and out the side. So it has a unique sound. I have to sand down the bedsides. Then I can lay down primer. Then paint it camo green. I still need a solid windshield. Also need an alignment. I need new tires. And I need to install the rear glass that I have. Oh and I need to get my 4.88 gears installed. So still a few things to do.
Tubs I tubbed the firewall back to the cab mount. I was careful to make sure the clutch pedal has full compression. Driver's side just welded Passenger side with seam sealer and rocker guard 33's should be no problem now
update Added some POR15 to the inside of the tubs. Painted my exhaust tip with bbq black paint. Put most of the interior back in. I had to cut the fuse box a bit(driver's kick panel area) to make it fit. And I cut a hole in the back of my glovebox and stuck the computer in there. The heater core was difficult to put back in. Had to take apart the next section of duct to get it in. And sanding sanding sanding. Layed down some primer at the end of today.
1st layer I sprayed down my first layer of rattle can camo green. I like how it looks. But my bodywork is not perfectly smooth. I don't mind much though since it is only a 4x4 and will be getting scratched up anyway.
uhhh, not sure why you painted the middle of the axle silver its all one piece, if you didnt have a drop out style rear axle like a dana or corp axle it would make sense the center section would be different piece but....anyway all the body work on the bed doesnt look to shabby looks almost factory nice
i love the idea that you tubbed the fire wall for that much more tire clearance right? nice never seen that on a lifted truck..only on bagged trucks..great job dude keep it up!
Check it out now Thank you I ordered 33x10.5 R15 BFGoodrich KM2s today from the Toyota dealer. They got me a deal because I have connections Sprayed some more paint:
got clear I added a clearcoat and removed the tape: I just need tires and then take it to the mechanic shop. I'm pretty much done with this truck and working on my '92 2wd soon.
New look Well I have an inspection and new windshield coming on Thursday. It is raining today but I got my new tires in town and installed them. It looks totally different now. I took pics. I need an alignment:
Thats pretty awesome. I just read the whole thing. I always love olive green paint. Should be nice and trailable now.
damn that is cool! you should add a few rivets and more army writing, maybe a white star on the hood or door!
hey im up on kootney lake (working) and did a little road trip made it to duncan lake was going to head into the slocan valley and check out the arrow lakes but gas is to spendy here. i like the color, olive drab if im not mistaken
Oh ya. That's cool. That is a great drive up to Duncan Lake area. I'm sorry to hear that about the gas. Maybe that's what's killing my funds lol. I don't have anything insured for the road currently. Another great drive if you do decide would be the big circle. Start at Kootenay Lake and go to Kaslo and in Kaslo head to New Denver. New Denver to Silverton, Slocan, Winlaw, Slocan Park, Crescent Valley (Junction) and back to Nelson. The Co-Op in Slocan Park has cheap gas it is 100.9 right now.
