so i slapped one of the rims onto the parts truck to see if the arms would suck in the wheel enuff to drive it low.

turns out its F'n perfect, right where i wanted it. rubs a teeny bit on the fender lip when bounced really hard @ full crank, but the fenders arnt rolled on the parts truck.

so now the plan is to swap in the already cut springs/ shorter shocks.

remove both main leafs from the back, then maybe a 1in block. this thing has a extra main leaf in it. carrys a whole lot more weight then my wheeler could ever dream of. like 2 22rs, 2 trannys, a 18rc, and a bunch of random body parts with a full set of stock rims n tires. and thats with only 2 inches of compression. rides real smooth loaded down.

load leveling shocks in all four corners.

you could call it a poor mans air bag setup, but i call it a jewish slam, but dont think you could get one at dennys.

    note: i am jewish

Yea looks kinda funny being off center like that. Id say your second thoery sounds about right. That of the leafs are off something else all together and the lengths are different? But id deff try flipping them side to side first when you got em apart! Looks killa to! Can't wait to see it al cleaned up and ready for paint! :waytogo:

i actually did measure the leafs last weekend on the 75 and compared it to the 78.

both springs are the same cept on the 75 all the leafs are alot thicker.

there is a difference in the wheel base tho and i think the bed is off a standard bed truck, where the frame is the super short SR5. difference of 2in.

when i swap beds im gonna revers bob the bed to line up the wheel wells then use donator bits from the rusty bed to extend the bed skirts to make a lower body line.

im also thinking of ditching the yota tails and using a datsun 620 roll pan n tails instead.

I was gonna correct you on the rim size but I see you figured it out. :) I have the same rims, powdercoated grey, on my '86 Mustang SVO.

Sho'nuff - I can't believe how good those cobra wheels look on the lowered parts truck - they looked perfect!

Ashaman - I always wanted a SVO!!! For years I wanted one but they're probably all beat to hell now or either there a museum piece.

just did the first try at dropping the back with stuff i had lying around.

1in blocks and removed a overload spring. not quite enuff.

i want the fronts to tuck like they are (perfect) and the back to almost tuck but not quite.

from the looks of things im gonna go to a 2 or 3in block now.
