its half off every wednesday of the year. and sometimes saturdays, but not always. they have engine hoists mounted to car tires that u can use (for free).

the oil pan is right on top of the engine x-member. when i put on a 06 tacoma front end the top of the fenders will be a bit higher than they are now. the i will probably bubble the hood to cover the rest. body dropping the truck to the doors raises a ton of clearance issues so i'm running into them as i go. i had one idea of putting the bubble in the hood to clear and cutting out a little section where the front of the motor (and the lexus emblem) would show.

Yea put a cowl hood on it! But at the same time cutting a hole in the hood shows off the 2jz beauty! :D

so the drivers side is tight for space due to the big 2jz intake, so i'm thinking of moving the brake booster to the passenger side. i can just build a linkage that would run under the cowl panel. I think it would be really different to pop the hood and see it on the wrong side.

Might be easier to buy a shallower brake booster. They do make them. Lot less work than moving it. I have about 1/8th of an inch between my booster and upper intake manifold! And i think the 2jz one is bigger!

dude, burnzya.... I ****ing love you (no homo..)... i have been waiting for so long to hear of a story, of a 2JZ-GE in a yota.. it's so hard to find someone do that swap, especially 2WD... and actually more, up to date....

    :all gaze at his work!:

but seriously, since you plan to go N/A (i think?), would you please go with individual throttle bodies?!??!

i would love to hear that!!!

hey jeremy, i'm not even sure a low pro would work. since it's body dropped to the doors the motor is way up there. the booster would have to go under the intake, which is the same place the steering shaft is going to be:doah:. check out the pic and you'll see why i'm thinking about the other side.

i'm still trying to figure out something for the steering column. i would love to give it rack and pinion, but i need to find parts to work. otherwise i'm going to need like three universal joints to jump over the control arm and back down.

    k this may sound crazy...

but what about switching the spindles side to side (R2L,L2R) then using a 82-5 celica rack.

is there enuff room at the back of the motor/oil pan?

the celica linkage goes pretty much straight down, and moving the steering behind the x-mem will hide it better. plus you can do away with the bulky box/pitman/idler setup.

i thought about that but i'm not sure if the calipers being on the front will affect the performance of the brakes. i'm not sure if the mkIII supras use a box or a rack and pinion, maybe i will check on wednesday.

Okie! Hahaha yeah i see what you mean. You deff have way less room than i thought! Man that is gonna be one hell of a fit. But i like where your going with mounting it on the other side. Just make sure the bar that runs across to the right side is strong. If the bar is that long it will twist and you will loose brake pedal force to the twisting.

i have several 3/4" pillow block bearings, so i figured i would use some 3/4" cold rolled steel stock. i think that would be plenty strong to handle the torsion the pedal would apply. also in reality the bar would only be about 24" long.
