... and the 91 pickup is gone! Yay. Now do I keep this bay open for random repairs and quick projects, or bring over my 78 to start the swap...

I moved my mk2 supra back to my storage garage since I have all of the parts needed for the trucks swap. Then we bought the RN28 back to the "shop" garage. Today was a good (but long) day!

So I have both 22REs on engine stands and starting swapping the new parts off the bad engine over to the good one. Only had one thing stop me so far, the crank bolt on the good engine. My impact would not touch it. So we held the flywheel with a pry bar against the engine stand standoffs that mount to the block, then used my big breaker bar and a 6' pipe. With a very loud BANG it was loose. Now I can finish the parts swap this week.

Most of the good and better parts are on the good 22RE as of today. I am a bit behind, but will keep trucking along.

I will pull the head off of the bad 22RE to see what happened.

I reorganized the garage to get ready for the swap last weekend. I have car shows to shoot both day this weekend and then a cars and coffee next Sunday. I did finally find a missing headlight bezel and picked it up. Sometimes it is the little things.

I will be concentrating on getting the truck done after this weekend. I have a small chance, but am very interested to bring it, swap complete, to toyotafest CT this fall...

After a couple of years looking to replace a missing headlight bezel, I found one but I am now on the fence. I polished them up and put them in, but it now it looks too "pretty". I think I am going to remove them...

I spent today... cleaning...and sand blasting... oh and my back knows all about it. ugh.

There was a heavy thick amount of oil build up on the front crossmember/subframe. Some time with simple green and plastic putty knives it is finally pretty clean.

I sandblasted some of the stuff i am going to nickel plate (I am going to paint the throttle body and heat shield). Tomorrow I need to remove the PCV tray to clean it out. Once I get it off I am going to drill and tap to install thread locked bolts.

I was all over today on car projects, but did get to rip off the PCV tray and clean it out. I also tossed in the clutch pedal assembly and saw that I need a new clutch master cylinder. I also pulled the oil pan and pickup off of the 20R.

I am swapping the oil pans tomorrow and if I have the time, drop the engine and trans into place to figure out the other unknowns.

A few photos of progress. Not enough to really know what was done haha. Sandblasting, die grinding, priming and painting the stuff not getting nickel plated. I also cleaned the lower subframe enough to actually repaint it, heh.

That's awesome. Can I ask how much the upholstery on the seat costs?

Since the truck's factory seat was cracked (new mexico and all), the owner put a locals home made navajo blanket over the seat. it was still in the truck when I got it, YES! The side facing up was terribly faded, but the side facing the seat was fresh as new. I asked my upholstery guy about replacing the torn faces of the seat (bottom and back) with the good side of the blanket and he loved the idea. He talked me into replacing the sides with black vinyl which I should have planned, doh!

He dropped it back off to me today and boy am I happy with the plan.

Here are his photos of the progress:
