So on sunday during my 60 mile round trip to the park my gas gauge took a dump. I think it was the shitty Thai sending unit that failed me again. Not sure when il drop the tank but its going to have to happen again.

Well ive had the tuck on jackstands all week, messed with the sending unit a bunch and ive gotten it to read within range but i hook it up to the gauge and when the sending unit is in the Full position the gauge only shows half, at Empty it shows empty. So its going back in tonight screw it.

Il be ordering an aftermarket sendig unit along with the quad gauge from Speedhut. Il find a way to make it all work with the tank

Sounds like it will be much better once you get through the headaches. I hate dealing with gas tanks....

Shes back on the road now. Put some miles on it and its doing good. I think i need to adjust the carb some. For some reason it doesnt like reving past 4000 under load. Sometimes it doesnt rev past it at all

Had a coworker help me diagnose the rev issue. Turns out the vac advance on the 20R dizzy wasnt functioning, stuck or busted either way it wasnt working. Pulled the 22R dizzy out of the parts bin, bolted it on and wired it.

Shes cruising right along now. So far acceleration is a lot smoother especially from 3k rpm and up.

    Well here goes another update.

When i had the truck up and tore the axle apart i noticed the massive exhaust leak i had at the flange, now i understood why i always stunk after driving it. This gave me the opportunity to make a change. I finally was able to use the Cherry Bomb turbo muffler ive had in the garage for the last 6 years.

Its so much more quiet and comfortable to drive. Still not 100% happy with it but itl have to do.

Oh and my tires came in on tuesday for the 17s il be running. Shoukd be getting em mounted this weekend
