Hi, me and my son are putting a 22re in his 74 pickup, the engine is out of a 90 pickup, what adapter will I need to install the sending unit in the same place I'm removing the original sending unit? I haven't bought the temp gauge yet, just want to have everything I need before I try and install it ....any help is appreciated

You may need a T fitting to fit a second sensor

Anything that is 3/8" will be Japanese spec but anything 1/2" will be npt. You might have a port you can use.

I'm not using the original sender that was electronic , should be able to adapt to that outlet, just not sure what thread it is,

Is there an adapter I can get for the Japanese size?

Depends on the size of the probe. With an adapter you step it down some. So if it's only a little smaller then the threads it will not fit. The British standard will work thought and easy to find.

Most early Toyota thread has a 1.25 pitch.
    So either M8x1.25 or M10x1.25. Depending if it’s a nominal 5/16 or 3/8.
