With the help of SD YOTA, we came across a Downey header for my truck. This thing looks to be in great shape! If the hp gained and the sound is anything what Alex says, I'm going to be VERY HAPPY. I'll try to get some pictures...

Thanks guys, glad you like what we've done so far. I think I'm gonna leave the 2wd fenders on. I plan to lower the truck a little more with spindles or control arms. If the wheels rub then I might have to go with the 4wd's. Up close, the way it sits, I'm really happy how it turned out... a little lower would be always be nicer!

Yea, but if you lower it anymore you might have some issues turning with the 2wd fenders.

    But yea, looks killer!

Good to know General. Thanks for the info. Since that picture was taken, we've taken out the old bed liner, and SDYOTA installed a Downey header for me. Pictures are on the way. I've got a few pictures of the engine compartment before we pressure washed it 3 times. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE! Truck looks totally different from where we started. I'll get those posted soon.

Mac's been real generous in allowing me to borrow the truck these past couple weeks to get some stuff done and hauling the block around to get done. in that time we installed the header and made a nice improvement but, the truck is in desperate need of a timing chain. i can feel the serious retard on the cam affecting the trucks power down low....... dont like to pull from bottom but has good top end to it. not to mention the annoying chain slap you get from the busted guides and slacked chain....

i got a feeling its gonna RIP once we slap that new chain and guides on. :headbang:

those guys that run wheels tucked like that only go down in a straight line tucked....... when they go to turn, they air up quick to allow room for the tires to clear the fenders...... if you ever noticed a bagged truck goin down the highway, they're usually an inch off the ground.... on turns, they usually are raked up front to clear. :waytogo:

either way, im tucking lots of tire up front on mine with real low offset wheels and i can still clear fine. yea, it'll rub a bit but we'll fix that no prob..... nice thing about the 2wd fenders is they can flare real nice and retain the good tight look..... they just need to flare outward enough on the center pivot of the wheel to allow the tires to clear.

ill have to take pictures of mine once i get the motor and trans set back in.....:D

Got to cleaning out the cab of the truck. These are some before and after shots. The carpet was pretty dirty. I originally intended to swap the bench out of a 60/40 that I picked up but the brackets didn't line up with the wholes in the floor. So with the seat out of the cab, I could really how dirty the carpet got. I took it out and sprayed it with some laundry stain remover and scrubbed it with a brush. Then I took in to a laundromat and stuck it in the biggest washer I could find. Amazing how dirty the water looked. After a good wash, I stuck it in the biggest dryer there and let it dry for about 10 min. on high heat. After all was said and done and about 10 bucks for the wash, dry and 2 little boxes of detergent, the carpet looks and smells clean! The rubber mat that is normally glued to the floor came off in wash and the carpet lost some of its "stiffness". Small trade off for 15 yrs of all kinds of dirt.:waytogo:

I'm not sure what generation pickup the 60/40 came out of. The are these post next to the front bolt holes on both seats that must be for alignment. Also, the holes on the seat track don't line up with the holes in the floor. I'm gonna try to remember to post some pictures of the seats later.
