Hi guys, I've posted on here a few times about my Hilux. Last summer when I brought it in to the shop they said it needed all new brake lines and a new oil pan... This seemed suspicious since the oil pan has been the same since I've had the truck with no new issues. It is flattened out a little on the bottom (likely from bottoming out) but still works fine. As for the brake lines, they are the original ones, so I get that. Anyway, I'm done taking to that one shop since they've had pretty bad customer service. I recently reached out to a vintage car shop asking if they thought they could handle the brake job. They quoted me $3000 + tax as a ballpark figure since they are 45 minutes away and I can't get the truck there now. My question is, does this seem like a reasonable price? I have replaced the brake pads and cylinders (which I did not tell them) maybe that would knock the price down a little? I'm also just wondering if it's worth paying this much to fix the old truck. It's got the 18rc engine, which I've read can be a money pit. It runs pretty well now with a new weber carb, but still stalls at times and can idle rough when starting up. There are also likely other issues that would need to be addressed at some point... Just looking for some guidance for some of you experienced Hilux owners on whether it's worth the $$$ or not. Thanks
