Ok so im in the market for buying a fuel cell. For those of you who have a fuel cell on your 89-95 22re trucks if you could tell me about yours. I search and find 100's of universal blah blah blah with different kinds of sending units blah blah blah but how do I know which one to get?? So what kind do you have, sending unit, what mods did you do to it like fuel pump or gas gauge wise?? Also if there are better ones for bagged trucks since its going to be at numerous angles with the fuel sloshing everywhere all the time.

I def want a metal one, according to a few people already I do not want one with foam in it due to the really hot summers, really cold winters, and always fluxuating humidty that would cause water to seperate and freeze or some baloney like that.

On my 88 ,same engine, I wanted a stainless fuel cell & because of Cali's laws had to go with a custom made unit. I got a doner tank & cut away the items needed : sender & filler bezels, drain plug, vent tube,& inside sump

Next I figured the volume I wanted, stayed with the stock 12.5 gals, made a wood cell the shape & size & mocked up

So pretty much I'll have to buy one and install the OEM mechanics. I figured the ones with the GM senders would be overkill on a toy 4 cyl.

Different manufactures. different resistance @ the sender.
I have after market gauges so modified the stock sender bracket to except the Auto Meter sender!
And the use of the stock filler neck is to pass smog( must have the restricter).
You can get a metal cell with no holes & add your own using your stock pieces!

Guys I'm in the same boat here
    92 yota fuel injected
I want to go with a fuel cell
I was looking at that exact RCI model that Jeremy listed.
I don't mind running an external pump , my issue is that I want to use the stock guage .
I know that the gm sender is way off in terms of ohm reading
Have you guys had any luck retrofitting the OEM sender in a fuel cell?
Does it require the fuel cell to be the same depth as the OEM tank?

    Thanks
