Well my battery took a dump after only 3 years. Odyssey PC1500, 4 year full replacement is being stood by.
Went to start & only 5.6 volts after sitting for a few weeks!
New one coming soon!! Also a battery maintainer, 3 stage slow charger, was told to keep on it if I don't shut off battery power!

That sucks ... You may have just gotten a bad battery ... I have the same one in mine and lasted almost 5 years now and i keep it on a slow trickle battery tender when parked for more than two weeks ... Full replacements are nice tho, huh ?!?! Hope you have better luck with the next one ...

I went away from my Yellow Top ( had from 4 years), if the voltage ever goes bellow 10 volts only way to recharge is @ 2 amps for 72 hours!! No matter what the alt. output!!
Battery tender is what I need to use ,if power not turned off, & has to be from Odyssey, or one approved by them!

You must have really put a strain over and over on that thing, that brand is supposed the be the go to battery that's replacing all deep cycle batteries these days.

I always like to tell my story about my 18 year old yellow top Optima...Bought new in 94 for my pop up camper. Used it occasinally for a few years on trips. Didn't have power ran to it, so would have to put a charge on it before trips.

Then life changed a bit so it sat drained in the camper for about 10 years. Life got better, added a second battery to my Chevy 4x4, and in went Old Yeller. This battery is still going strong!

It's jump started my horrible red tops more times than I can count, been used in my bass boat to power the Minkota troller, used on my bed hoist last week, (see pic) so I guess I just got lucky and got a special one of a kind battery.

It's too bad batteries have gotten so damn expensive, because it'll definitely be another yeller for me, but I guarantee I'll never own another battery as good as Old Yeller has been.

19 years old in a month! I'll have a cerimonial beer fest and burial when it's time, and I'll probably cry a bit. I'll definitely be saying goodbye to a great old friend.

    Can anyone top this?

    That's awesome!

I've drained mine dead on numerous occasions leaving the stereo or having the compressor run overnight when a relay went bad, and it's always been a quick jump and off to work.

I hope mine makes it to 19. :D

Got a replacement sent to me, & now changing the way I have the battery/ battery box held down.
Was battery studs though the floor & nuts on bottom, that is a pain to remove.
Made tabs that will weld to the floor & come though the battery box & studs will attach from the top ,with nuts on top . Top plate changed from side to side ,to end to end. Will throw photo's up soon!

Battery box work is completed. The wire with a plug on the end is for the battery tender.

    You got it Ricky!
Will be starting the bed area today!
And the Odyssey batteries require a special charger, their own or a approved one. Got the smallest one as told it would do the job!
