OK so i think my brake booster is taking a dump. Recently ive noticed that wen i slow down i step on the brake and feel no pressure and i dnt slow down at all. Me and my dad are thinking the same thing, i might need a new booster.

My question is since i might bag it in the future Would a Geo Metro booster work without major modifications??

Or am i just better off goin with a stock replacement?

I need answers asap before it completely stops working and something bad happens.

    Thanks for looking guys

Use one from an early 80s. Like 81/82. Bolts right up and is a smaller diameter. It's about the smallest bolt on one. Pretty cheap too.

as long as it has the same 4 bolt pattern. they only had a 2 and 4bolt truck pattern i know of. and the 2 bolt was old. 78ish and back.

wouldn't a bad booster simply cause a hard pedal, since all it does is assist with pushing???

i have a 66 mustang, and it is before power boosted brakes and it stops fine, but you have to push harder. if your pedal is simply going down easily, and your not slowing i'd be checking other parts out as well.

it was happening with mine, and was the master. got so bad, it leaked into the booster, then into the cab on my foot. there was about a gallon of fluid in the booster. lol.

well wat else could i check?

Because well this is my DD and braking is getting really bad. Im using the gears to slow down and the brake to stay in one spot. My brakes are still good. and i havent noticed any fluid on the back of my wheels. theres no leaks from the MC and its full.

maybe my GF slit my brake lines??

seriously tho wat else could it be

i had a similar problem and i replaced both master and booster and found out it was my wheel cylinders and they didn't even leak on the back of tire the fluid just sat in the rotor so maybe pull your rotors off and check like i said mine had no fluid on the back so it could be that i put new wheel cylinders on and it fixed it

well i spoke with my mechanic today and he said it could be the master cylinder (like S13 said) And well i believe him:shrug:

I kinda want to wait and let him actually come see the truck before i go off buying parts and still have a problem
