Thanks man! She has come a long way and gone through a few changes, but I like how things are going right now. I'm thinking that the door panels will be next, replacing them with some of that diamond stitch that I have on the center console and subs.

I've always said this ol' truck is my little hot rod. I'm also working on a "Justin Danger's Custom Workshop" door logo with some handsaw graphics because, as a furniture maker, she is also my shop truck.

They are made by a brand called procar. They aren't the highest quality things, but they aren't super expensive either. Occasionally you can get good deals on their defects too! A lot of them go into muscle cars I think.

Hahaha. I once had a 66 chevelle, and I had to rebuild and all. But, I remember the day she first fired up, I got so excited that I forgot to tighten the lug nuts after rotating my tires a couple weeks before!! As soon as I left the driveway.. both rear wheels came off and I was just looking stupid at the intersection!! Hahaha

Well, went to bleed the brakes today, but things weren't quite going right, so i went around checking to make sure the fittings were all tight, and the rear fitting on the master cylinder stripped out, and poured brake fluid all over.

The MC was stamped AISIN, but it is such a soft aluminum. I threaded a big bolt in the hole so it would stop draining brake fluid, and it was too easy to tighten that oversized bolt in. Like threading into wood.

Sooooo now time to find a legit Aisin MC no matter the cost (within reason)

And I cheaped out, kinda. I ordered one from a local parts shop. This time I opted for the cast iron one. Still going with a 1" bore. It won't be as shiny, but I can deal with that!

Reminds me the time the homie going for a test drive after a transmission swap. Get maybe a mile away and at 45 the wheel comes off and starts sailing over the one car on the road. A lug nut got stuck in the person's mirror. Super lucky.

When I got my swap going I went to take it home and remembered my front brakes had started leaking. Figured I would block them off and use the rear. It started raining for the first time in a month and I nearly skidded through the first light. Lmao

She drove around the block! Started AND stopped on her own. I'm feeling so great. First trip will be to get a bottle of champagne to christen this bitch haha.

"Who could ask for anything more?"

I got my truck to run, y'all can do the same! Thanks to the community out there for the help and encouragement, I hope to offer the same to you all as well.

Oof it has been a long day. I was able to pull back the trans enough to take the flexplate off and switch the spacer. It only took 8 hours and most all of my energy.

    The rattle is gone!

Took anoyher drive around the block, and had a little more fun this time.

Once I work out all the kinks and drive it for a while i'll start thinking about going back to the 5m AFM and the FAST ignition.

And geez! I need to get to the gas station, then thank myself for leaving me scant gas to tune with.

Took a drive today to go get a cheesebuger and a big beer, Betsy did alright. There is a different rattle now, still sounds like it is coming from the bellhousing area. In the next couple weeks I hope to drive to a transmission shop to get the transgo kit installed and have them check things out.

There is also an oil leak that appears to be coming from between the layers of the MLS head gasket where the timing cover is on the driver's side. I'm gonna take the valve cover off and inspect to see what is goin on inside there.

Temps stayed nominal, and the acceleration once the turbo spools up feels a lot better than it did before. High revs with the new internals actually feel pretty great.

Got bugs to fix, but feels so good to drive that lil Toyota again.

I wanted to see if i could isolate the rattle in a cylinder, so I pulled the plug wires one at a time while running to see if that would stop the noise. Went through all the cylinders twice and it kept right in rattling.

I then popped the valve cover off to check valve lash. It was fine. Checked the tension on the timing chain. Nice and taut. Guides were juuuust fine.

So I decided to get some video of this noise for you to hear.

This last one I wanted to show a bit of the gauge readouts (sorry the LEDs flicker on camera but not in real life.)

RPMs at idle are right around 800 flat. Oil pressure seems a bit low to me, but does react with throttle. AFR is fairly steady at 14.7ish
