Also, with my Radiator being lower than my block I was having some issues with Cooling. I installed a Petcock type Valve on the Water Neck where the 1/2 bolt is above. This solved the cooling issues we were having. 4.3 S10 Radiator and an electric fan seems to be doing the trick for now.

So I got an awesome deal on another turbo 350 that has had some major work done to it. All the goodies and a 2800 Stall Converter.

We had to cut the cross member out to remove/install the new tranny.

Made brackets for the cross member out of 1/4 inch steel strip. (Grade 8 Bolts, nuts and washers)

Borrowed a tranny jack from a friend which made the install go pretty easy. Took about 5 hours to get the Tranny bolted back up to the engine.

    Cross Member bolted back in.

Got pissed off while struggling to drill out the steel plates so I took an impulsive trip to Home Depot.

My dumb as* did not think of the difference in shaft lengths with the Turbo 350 so now my Driveline does not fit. Dropping it off again tonight to hopefully have it ready to install by Friday/Saturday. This is really all that's needed to get it driving again.

Hoping to get the front of the truck all buttoned up this weekend and then it's on to installing the Roll Cage, Harness bar and door bars.

Moved my truck to another friends house to give the other guy some space for other projects :)

Lots of late nights this week but pretty happy that we were able to knock this tranny swap out. I was a little nervous because it was my first time ever touching a tranny and this is not an easy intro.

Originally I was really unsure of how the heck my Valance was going to fit on with the added radiator and tranny cooler. Few minutes of trimming on it looks like it may actually work out. Sadly the front of my truck looks a little haggard from when it was stolen and crashed.

The rodeo/passport valance might cover all that...

Got to take it for a drive today. It straight hauls ass. New transmission feels really good. Only got into it about half throttle. This thing is insanely loud with open headers. Didn't wanna draw too much attention ;)

    All of that sounds entertaining!

I'm mainly interested in the custom gauge cluster and the cb500, lol.

I'm having some fuel issues that have me stumped at the moment.

Both of these lines were bent out of the way and remounted higher on the fender from their old spot down lower. Reason being is the fumes started a fire once........

Anyway, I was under the impression that there was a feed, return and vent line? I am only running the feed right now and the return off the fuel pump is blocked off.

Just saw some fuel splash out of one of them while driving, how do I prevent this?

As you know the feed is down on the frame. The return line goes into a hard line that returns to the bottom on the tank and the vent just has a short stub into the tank to let vapors escape.

Easy way to figure it out is to take the gas cap off and have someone blow air into a line and listen for bubbles. If you don't here bubbles then you found the vent so block the return off and you'll be fine.

@White Trash That worked like a charm. Thanks for the pointer! No more gas leaks :)

I know this is kind of a boring part of the build but I promise it will get more eventful soon. Im just waiting on exhaust to get done on this thing.

Should be starting on the roll cage / bucket seat install soon.

    Stay tuned :)

Started on the cage last night, all the bars are welded and the base plates are tacked to the floor. It will be tied into the frame soon. Seats and harness bar will probably go in tonight.

Still need to make door bars as well.

For those curious this is the cage I used. http://www.4xinnovations.com/89-95-Reg-Cab-Pickup-Internal-Roll-Cage_p_13.html

I am having to shorten the middle bar and re-notch it. The bar by your head is a little too close for the middle bar to fit into place. Ill post more pics tonight/tomorrow.

Transmission leaks have been an issue since the start of this build. Replaced the old factory metal lines with some fuel line. Seems to have solved the tranny fluid issue. Now to try and fix my oil leak from the pan.

Took the truck out for about 5 hours on Saturday night and it ran like a dream. S10 has a 350 in it, 280 has an LS1 with a t56 and the Corrado is chipped and cammed.

I decided an old parking lot was a good place to destroy some tires. Truck slides amazing, actually felt very predictable. Its even better at alerting the cops of my location. One cop loved my build, the other looked annoyed at the young cop who just wanted to talk about the project haha. No ticket :)

Next up is to weld the diff.

    Then track time
