    Is the brake master cylinder and booster in the way? Its hard to tell from the photos it looks like the engine needs to tilt towards the brake cylinder a bit more. That might help with your bonnet clearance. Ive done a few engine conversions, you really need to get the sump off, and the gear box on, get the gear box mount on straight and centered first, then work on your engine mounts.
    If that master cylinder is in the way you can ditch the booster and mount the brake cylinder on the fire wall. You can pick up a remote booster that you can mount any where you want for around $90.
    By the look of it your going to be cutting into your sump no matter what you do, so may as well cut a big chunk out of it and get that engine sitting a bit lower so your not cutting into your bonnet or floor.
