2wd anything is less common up here in Colorado. What I do see a lot of are 2-door 2nd gen Runners. Supposedly they're all rare and stuff, but I bet I've seen 12-15 different ones around town in the past couple years.
those are very rare 4runners indeed! Almost like the 1st gen's with the turbo and digital dash (only toyota "truck" to come with a digi). Also 2wd 4runners are lame lol
heres the complete build up on one..... http://www.customtacos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=113336&highlight=2runner
This was for sale on my local craigslist a while back. IIRC the guy had took the 4 Runner body and put it on a 2wd truck frame.
That is actually kinda cool. Smart idea to use a 2wd frame, too. I'm assuming everything fits, so it probably wouldn't be that hard of a swap.
A couple newer 2wd 4Runner's http://boise.craigslist.org/cto/1130586330.html http://boise.craigslist.org/cto/1121297511.html
Someone beat me to it. I was going to say chassis swap. I'd love to do that if I had a 4Runner, however most 4x4 guys out here would probably key it.
