Here's the parts list, if I missed anything feel free to chime in...

    1. Pre 85 22r short block including timing chain setup... Dual or single chain doesn't matter as long as the pistons are of the domed type.

    2. Any year 20r head... Power steering and mechanical fuel bosses are optional. *note- if you plan to run dual sidedrafts the mechanical fuel pump cannot be used due to the design of the intake manifold...

*This is as bolt on as it gets... No machining required to build this hybrid... Porting, polishing, shaving of the head is all optional and can be done to your specific needs...

*20r intake manifold must be used...
*Header is optional as both 20/22 will work...
*22r aluminum rockers are preferred but, not mandatory...

I think that's it... Have fun! :waytogo:

Given the domed pistons I say yes it is the correct block for a drop in 20R head hybrid. *Becareful with cam selection as the piston domes have a higher tendency to hit the valves. IMO .455" lift is about the max before having to cut valve reliefs into the domes.

You can also do a dual row timing chain setup, just order your timing kit and timing cover/oil pump/water pump for a 20R. *Note: to make this work you will need the oil pump drive gear/spacer (dealer or salvage yard part).

    Good luck! :waytogo:

Yea, just for the dual chain setup. You can keep the single chain setup if you like, no special notes there...

Valves matter, they are different in length between the 20/22... You can use 22R valves but, will require more machine shop time. They have to get the installed height correct so it doesnt screw up the rocker arm geometry. It's been done succesfully many times, id suggest you call around and see if any shops have done it before just for peace of mind...

Cam and springs are same same for 20/22... Unless your spring supplier requires any specific machine work to be done.
