More updates coming very soon. I am getting with Yotarip in the morning and dropping it off at his crib so he can do the wiring for me and hopefully get a first start video uploaded.

I'm starting to think Yotarip should quit his day job and do UZ swaps full time! lol

I'd b bugging him if I lived near him too ;)

This was how Yotarip and I spent our morning yesterday. Spent it pulling my pickup with his sequoia. I have to say to have 300k plus on it his sequoia it pulled the pickup effortlessly. Toyota V8 power baby. IMAG0753.jpg

If I may ask, what's up with the flywheel that needs changed? I'm looking into slapping a 1UZ onto an existing W5x setup.

The 1uz never came with a manual trans, so it requires a flywheel from a 3.0? and needs a little machining to work.

Picked up an IS300 complete rear assembly as LSD and independent rear suspension are definitely going to improve the truck. I want to improve traction and handling as well ass have a ridiculous HP to weight ratio. IMAG0758.jpg

Curious to see what it takes to redo the whole rear subframe.

The measurements we've taken so far look very promising. I'm focused on getting it up and running for the Summer before I get into that conversion. Plan to start it mid fall because it may keep me off the road longer and I wanna have some fun asap.

As a guy with a blown up 22RE and waiting on an engine, I hear that. It'd be decdidely less truckish, for better or worse, but this aint exactly a sod hauling landscape truck you're building...

I've always been into lowering trucks but hauling capacity is usually the first thing you give up. So in return for less truckish capabilities and towing I want handling and power. The biggest reason for building a truck is it's solid frame, light weight and they'll never expect it's capabilities. I keep a full size truck or SUV around so they're responsible for the hauling and towing.

Hey, I wanted to ask you about that transmission emulator. I found the guy's website but I'm wondering what you paid, if you just paypaled him or what. The engine I bought is a 1JZ VVTi I'm mating to a manual, it'd be cool if it'll work for mine too.

I can't speak on its use with the 1jz but yotarip has one installed on his 1uz vvti supra. It's giving him great results so I expect the same for my truck. Russian cat by the name of Yury sells them. He has done a bunch of work for yotarip with no problems to report so if said said it works for the 1jz then I'd take that statement as truth.

I emailed the guy and he said it works on any VVTi after 1998, any engine before that you just wire into park or neutral and go. Not certain if he meant early VVTi or non-VVTi only (I think they debuted in 97) but that's a good tidbit for anyone reading.

Small update, video is of a bare minimum, no MAF, no O2 sensor, no alternator start. We plan to add all the accessories and post another video soon. The squeaking started to clear up more with each start, engine hasn't run in nearly two years. Enjoy.

New video of the truck running with everything hooked up and incomplete exhaust system.
