Since you’re all talking about them, here’s a non running 72 for $1500 looks mostly complete too https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/d/redwood-city-1974-toyota-hilux/7216738397.html
That seller does not know what he's talking about. All you see is short beds for the early ones in America. He still has his blinders on and probably wouldn't notice another short bed hilux if it was parked right next to him.
I will say some of these prices aren't as bad as 4x4 toyota pickups go for. I feel bad for anyone that likes and wants to own one of those. Guys have drove the price past what it would be new with inflation for good ones. Saw a listing for a 3rd gen that sold for about 50k. Your beat up runner driver thats trail proven averages 5k plus.
Yeah they might be thinking of the later models. I see just as many long beds as short on the 75-78 years I’m all for the price of a 4wd increasing in price. I’m sure my 93 will be worth quite a bit when I decide to sell it
Hahaha. Damn don't tell these ppl that. This one is really well priced in my opinion. No rust. Fully painted. No dents! Plus awd. Only thing missing is A/C and that's asking for everything! Haha 1980 Toyota Hilux for $10600 on OfferUp https://offerup.com/item/detail/982957626/
The one for 50k was definitely cherry. For me even that one at 10k is double then I would be ok with paying. At that kind of money more doors open and I don't think ill ever have a huge interest in off-roading rigs. So its hard for me to see the value.
If you can find a Wolverine you’ll be rich. Had a chance two years ago to buy a non running but complete truck for $1500 in NC. Didn’t know how rare they were. By the time I went back it was sold.
Idk what you think is rich but a perfect condition one would fetch a good price. 1500 wasn't bad. I don't think the market gives your average one a huge premium over others because not many people know about it. A lot of 4x4 guys think their third gen is a first gen. Its easy to overlook as anything special.
Considering there were fewer than 100 of these dealership 4x4’s made, they’re quite rare. Quick google search I could find none for sale. Only one I saw was a cherry for 26K. That’s long gone.
