best thing i can say is do a continuity check, make sure the wire is still good, other than that...u just might have a bad sensor..i take it u...
Check ur cable..it might have broke.i had that happen to me as i was driving down the road, had to pull it off at the transmission to check it and...
yeah, u shouldnt need to deal any extra holes. u just need to buy 2 bolts and nuts, with washers. Then do what MiScHi3v0uS MiNi said..
