remove your old fuel pump and install a new one in the fuel tank and get rid of the aftermarket one and install a neww filter
that bracket to the left in that photo is to hold the throtle cable sheath on one end and return spring on the other ,,on the spring hook
id put a new master and slave cyl on it and b dome there cheap,,,
sounds like your e g r valve is stuck half open i had the same prob and spent 300 dollers for a new carb only to find out different,,, check your...

its your e,g,r valve i had the same problem with mine and several hundered dollers later i changed it and man what a differance ..

any ideas for a 76 truck iv replaced everyting in the front ,rotors ,calipars .pads.hoses. even machined a groove through the middle of the pads...
rotella 15w40 and a fram filter in my big rig its highest zink of all oils and its geat for new or rebuilt engine break ins ,,,
iv put a new battery a new alternator a new voltage regulator on my truck and the light is still on

ok guys if your like me your tired of lookin for that chargeing problem with your alternator ... not enough or its overcharging ,,, heres the fix...
theres no way in hell to do this over the internet you may need welding in new metal at some points or fiberglass or just a smidge of bondo start...
but i cant find a bracket guess ill have to make one like every thing else iv done on my truck
