Have you looked at anything yet? iirc, it should be a side shift trans with a mount thing on the side, and the bolts in mine would loosen up...
When I blew up my stock 4 speed in my 77 (should be the same..) and put in a w55 I had to cut off the stock trans mount from the crossmember and...
Not to mention, 1* is not very noticeable either, a buddies car is set for track with 1.5-2* and you really have to look to even notice..
