i bought some wheels for my truck and when i install them the wheels were hitting the upper control arm. How can i correct this and the wheels are 15x8 on 185/50/15.
Wrong offset. That offset would work if the wheel was 17". Not sure if 16 will clear either. You could get spacer, but the last time I got spacer I didn't have enough thread to screw the lug nut on.
25 offset, yeah that's like a 1" offset or 5" backspace. 0 offset would be a 4" backspace for your 8" wide wheel. Wheel spacers or get new wheels is your only option really. If you go with shallow spacer inserts you may require longer wheel studs to have enough threads. Wheel spacers with their own lugs are safer obviously but they are thicker and start sizing over 1" thick I think
ok thanks @Perkolator i order some 10mm wheels spacers and extended wheel stud. lets see if that will work.
Actually a 8" rim with 0 offset has a backspace of 4.5". Rim width is measured where the bead of the tire seats and is not the total width of the rim. Need to add roughly 1" for the total width of the rim. So 8" rim + 1" = 9" with 0 offset is 4.5" backspace.
Ebay and Jegs are probable places. Summitracing possibly. The thread is 12mm x 1.5, and stock are a little over 1.5 inches (40mm), so however much longer you need, add to that. One extra inch would be 65mm long, or about 2.57 inches.
