I have a 1994 22re Xcab hilux and working on upgrading my stock clutch. The problem is the upper housing 17mm bolts are hard to loosen  and more particularly the one on the driver's side . I was excited  to work the clutch but now im fukn bummed  that I cant get it out. Your expertise and advice is needed.

    My recipe for that is:

    1) drop the trans x member to allow the engine to tilt back and allow more clearance.
    2) 17mm socket 1/2" drive
    3) 1/2" universal
    4) about 2 feet of 1/2 extensions
    5) 1/2" breaker bar
    6) lots of cussing

I did the passenger side from the bay but the other bolt is a PITA. Not much room
