Every time i get "a surprise " i think of wiley coyote .. he all time got faulty equiptment .. but next day after school . New idea
Well pool or not to pool .. raw fuel caused entire muffler to split from end to end.. going downhill on compression . Then boom
I would make sure all cylinders are firing. A little rich can bust a restricting muffler. Could be something like jetting being a little off. If the car originally ran at a different elevation that can get you far off. Carb could just be dirty/damaged. Something like a stuck open needle will dump tons of fuel down.
my elevation is 710 feet above sealevel in lewiston idaho.. the carb was on the 22r .it is probably in adjustment
cuz it was allready done left 22r intake on,if you drive like i do the fuel never pools n e where centrifical force, large exaust keeps quiet
ts bene 15 years,. i shoulda remembered. never weld nekkid.i got pic of my forearms, and alovera in abundance.the exaust system is quiet now
so. the water issue is my bad judgement.. saw what looked to me like redundand vaccume stack.. half right .. the part abovegrnd is vaccume
Going to start this off by saying not a good idea. Square port on the 22r vrs round on the 20r. Could run into problems with fuel pooling there because of the harsh transition condescending the fuel. I wouldn't expect great performance and tuning issues if it does cause it to pool. Try a gasket dressing.
well sir .. i agree .. n the water issue .. my fault.. i saw what appeared to be a re-dundant vaccume stack.. i was half right .. the half above ground was vaccume
long day 9-3-miller welder\gen rnr fast idler and brush cchipper blade sharpener stone rnr.. 330pm-bout 91999-2000 nissan frt whl bearin

The carb mating surface does have coolant flowing around it and a little hole. Found this out when I put on my 32/36 and read in the directions to drain the coolant. I thought there was no need and nearly filled my intake full of coolant.
Nice yota, I'm a newbie, Mr B. But like the stance of your truck. Do you know what was used to lower it. Spindles and rear spring blocks?
Building a project car/truck is all about balancing your time and never loosing sight of the end goal! Just keep truckin!
Many people get distracted by other interest. I know a few people they get into to many things without finishing one even close to "complete." Or the one I really hate to see the old completing the build so they can actually sell it when you know that was never an attention of theirs. Time and money can get to people. I'm ride or die for most of my things.
I remember a time where I traded a 4dr 66 Chevelle Malibu for a 2drr hardtop 59 Edsel Ranger. Sweet ride, always wanted one just this one has no drive train.. first engine 5.0, had a crack in cylinder 3.. went 5.8 block and never went into the car. . . For 4 years!! SMDH ..just to trade for a 17' 95 Sea-Doo boat..hahaha
