Father/son project to build up a 1991 Toy 2wd x-cab that my granfather bought brand new. Look forward to being part of the group.
Just bought a 1990 Toyota Pickup SR5 V6 Auto, 104k on the clock, Timing Belt/Water Pump fix 10k ago. Here for the knowledge, so far so good!
Round trip to Utah then Arizona, would've been a great way to break a motor in in a couple of days..would've been if I had finished my block
Wondering if LCE is having a black friday sale since I'll be in the area.. looks like I'll have to stop by!
They probably will the thing will be if they have any stock on hand. I'm guessing they don't have much of a retail section like most shops.
Waiting for my new carpet! Ripped out the old one and the door cards. Anyone know some easily swappable black seats?
@Erwin Merida As of now I still have no new doorcards, I was originally going to do black aluminum ones but completely underestimated the amount of work and money it takes, currently don't have the right tools for it Lol Thanks for recommending the Celica seats btw, ill be sure to keep an eye out :D
I want the toyota race spec engine from doa or the big bore hybrid. Good price for the big bore at 4k.
@Toyotashack Its more of finding an OEM one, or even an aftermarket one, they just don't seem to fit no matter what I get and I've checked all of the normal autoparts stores and they have plenty of aftermarket dampeners but none fit mine for some reason :(
Have you tried a 4x4 one? It looks like it's the same bolt up design but I did just glance. I have a used 2wd one. Where are you located? Maybe even a 4x4 one that U bolts to your center link... it is hard to weed thru all the 4x4 stuff to find 2wd things on the google garbage net.
@Toyotashack I found one at my local junkyard and its working great! And yeah its as real pain trying to find 2wd parts. Lol
Slacker.., yeah I’m here. Rubber seal didn’t work well. I had it to the local glass shop. They had it almost installed but a 1 1/2 gap prevented it. I had them install a universal seal instead
DID ANYONE ELSE GET AN INBOX MESSAGE FOR S*X WORK USING WHATSAPP? CAN THE MODERATORS PLEASE CHECK IN ON THIS?
We never get back what we put into our trucks, but tht first drive down the block is worth at least half!
My point was the money pit our projects become. Some of us have 100s of labor hours despite the credit debt we rack up just to fuel our passion. Lol. And we're not talking about modified anything, just restoring can get out of hand quick!
Forsure. I got over 10k in parts in my truck and probably another 1k in parts not used anymore. If I wanted to sell it and not sit on it I would need to list it well under 5k. I've seen a celica with a fully built 22r hybrid sit on the marketplace forever. When you go heavy modified it dosnt fit everyone's taste. Hurts the value. Better off reverting back to stock as much as you can and sell parts separately.
I know a guy who stores his truck for about $200 a month.. that's $2400 a yr just to keep it! Lmao. I've known the guy for about 5 yrs.. so just in the time we've known each other hes' spent a tad over 10k!! To store it!!
