    Thanks bro!

Welp. Levin Auto Parts dropped the ball. No new LF fender, bumper with ends and brackets, or corner lights. He gave some of my money back. But no hard feelings because I did get a tailgate from him. :nana:

Second coat of bondo drying now...

    Anyone suggest another source?

    Wait Wait Wait...

So you snagged a diff from a Chinook here in Colorado? Was it at the pull and pay yard?

I got the complete axle-minus diff- from the 77 chinook.

I found a guy here in Texas with a wheeler who had a third out of a 4cyl 4wd. G code 4.10. It drops right in.

Why do you ask? It was at a LKQ in Denver. The one's that ontop of a hill.

Mainly because I need a dif' and finding one is tough so when I spied a 79' Chinook (no tailgate dammit) I raped it but the dif' was gone so I though "what sonnovabitch took my damn dif'!?" lol, I was going to call you a sonnaovabitch haha.

I thought the same thing. I FINALLY found my dream axle and somebody swiped the drop out. Sumbitch.

Got my spindles today, and feelin like putting in a brand new seat & bushing I got. Maybe tomorrow.

    Low and Behold!

So I got around to mounting my spindles. Did a B/J flip while I was at it.

Am I right thinking there are a handful of 79-83 with drop spindles? Ive only seen one. The Twistedminis guy's blue one...

Pre spindle drop, I was riding around this high for months. The torsions are just a little soft.

Mounted the spindles and relocated the balljoints.

Had to modify my LS400 caliper bracket (took 2 damn hours of fileing, but it went) on the driver side only luckily. Right bolted strait on. Hardware mounted...

I did not touch the torsion adjustment by this point. I set the truck down off the lift and splooshed my pants....Instantly.

And it was sitting on a lift arm (unknowingly) when I took the pics.

Now I definatly need to tub it or something. Bump, scrape, whizz. I can just hear my BFGs getting worthless

    Undercoating bro

Ill get around to fixing it. One step at a time, like the whole truck I guess.

Update. Put new plugs, cap, and fuel filter in after work. Did a compression test too.

NGK's gapped to .045, old ones looked PERFECTLY like they should, 70K miles on em. Old cap was a little worn.

    1. 200 PSI
    2. 207 PSI
    3. 210 PSI
    4. 205 PSI
:jawdrop: I got ~180 in Denver when I did the Hybrid head swap.

Looking good my friend. Keep up the good work, makes me wanna go 4wd fenders and bed. But I think it would look too damn funny with my skinnies in the front!

    Thanks.

Im running a complete 84-94 front suspension.

Its turning out much better than I could ever want. The pics of the super slammed trucks always have a crap ton of negitive camber on the front. Something about the swap gives me alot of positive camber adjustment. So when I get drop arms, I think the wheels will be right in line. :clapping:

    Video test.

Well, I found out my camera is a vid recorder too. Not the best quality, and short because I havnt got a memory card yet.

    A 15 punch. Shift 2-3 is at ~55mph. Stock truck 4 speed and 3.42s.

Cant wait to get my w58 back in with them 4.10s

And for those who dont know, this is what a mild 22R hybrid runs like. Head and intake are hogged out, running a 22R carb w/ adapter. Stock exhaust mani w a 2.50 exhaust. 20R head 22R shortblock. ~11.23 in the 8th.

So was it a straight forward swap over for the later model suspension? Thanks again
