The rims are from craigslist!!! Seriously though, they used to be available through Tire Rack.com. They are AT Italia, "Double Face". They have since been discontinued.
Wow, that's some serious homebuilt work. How's the ride with the t-bars loosened that much? Does the rear axle hit the frame on bumps?
The front rides so close to the way it did stock. Beautiful! The axle only hits on huge dips, or going around a turn or off-ramp with a bump in the apex. Of course the low profile tires didn't help matters any. Small sacrifice!
-2inch drop spindles -spin the torsions a little -4 inch angled dropped blocks -pulled middle leaf -195/60/r14 tires
Bring that sucker 40 mins. North and let me give you the best notch work and price around...guaranteed. You'll trip it'll be so cheap, no hack jobbin' either. Ask SD YOTA.
ey is there any way i can lower my truck without modifying control arms? cause the clearance between control arms and the bump stop is quite small. i wonder how you guys achieve such a low stance? TIA
cut or remove the bump stop for now. What size wheel you running? We flipped the lower ball joints and cranked the torsions down to just barely above the bump stop on my truck and put on a set of lowered shocks. The ride was ok but a little bouncy if the bump stops were hit. We took out the stops yesterday and as long as I wasn't going over bumps too fast, it rode VERY smooth. Otherwise my wheels rubbed the inner fender wells on big dips. We're hoping to find some low profile bump stops to fix that. I'm running 40 series tires on a set of 18" 350z wheels and right now and the top of the fender sits about a 1/4 inch above the tire. We were trying to achieve the look I wanted but on a budget. All things considered, I am very pleased for the meantime. Eventually I'm going to go with lowered control arms so I can tuck tire, but for those of us with champagne wishes on a beer budget, this turned out pretty cool. There are some pictures posted SD YOTA. Look for "Lil red- second chance".
look at my truck on the other page. i never even messed with my control arms straight up drop spindles and cranked the torsions the only thing you need to mod is your front bump stops just cut it. my back is 4inch angled blocks pulled the middle leaf, and the back also you just need to mod your bump stops. in the pic i was running 14inch stock steelies, but if you got bigger rims the higher you go, right now i got 17's i'll try take a pic of it with my steelies and my 17's now.
yah i saw it already very nice drop. it will stand higher if you'll put 17" or 18" wheels with 45 series tires... what drop spindles do i have to get if i'll put 18"rims with 40-45series tires? and will still achieve same as "tyme_fo_play's ride sitting on 14" steelies"
yeah it's gonna sit higher. my tires on my 17's were 245/35/r17 and i would rub on the front fenders when i turn. i don't think you can stay low with 18's unless you do a body drop or go bags.
