      Hey Bro,
I want to drop a 3s in a 71 first gen. I read your build thread and have a few questions if you dont mind helping me out.
How close was the fit in the stock frame? If I fabbed skinnier mounts to narrow the width and custom headers to clear the steering do you think it will drop in?
Did you have enough room for a radiator?
You can text if its easier, 310 418 4917
      Thank You,
      Andrew

It fits in the frame, but its tight. the exhaust drops out into the steering box, steering shaft, then the frame is in the way. I don't have the skills to do a swap so it's at a shop. There was room for the radiator, but the firewall clearance is really close. If you use the 6 speed that comes with the 3sge, you will have to modify the trans tunnel to fit.

So the trans bell housing cleared the steering shaft linkage? Its was just an exhaust issue? Im very encouraged to tackle this swap with the stock frame but i want to make sure only minor modifications will need to be made.
        Thanks for the quick reply.

Needing some wiring help on a 7MGE that I put into my 94 toyota pickup. If you feel like giving me any wiring information please call me at 828-421-3015 or e-mail me at [email protected]

I made an account on here just for the purpose of trying to find anyone who may be able to steer my wiring problem in the right direction. I don't know how to properly navigate nor use this site so my personal email or phone number would be the best methods of contacting me.

Thanks and I hope to hear back from you!

Sorry about that Austin. I haven't caught up on my messages. I have an 8R-C in it and the stock 4 speed that it came with (not sure the number). Even with my smaller wheels, it does pretty well on the limited freeway driving I have done. It keeps up with traffic but a 5 speed would definitely help keep the rpms down. Let me know if you end up getting the '70.
