I think I have a problem well I do lol. So this morning I get in my truck start it up let it fully start theni turn on my compressors start to smoke a cig then my truck sounds like it is surging bad. So I was like what the **** thts not good turn my comps off an it goes away. Turned them back on a few min later and it's fine. So tht brings me to about 15 min ago. I go to the gas station to get smokes an rockstars leave my truck on when I go in come back out pull out the station then I see my temp gauge go from where it normally is to almost red instantly turn on the heater it drops a little bit enough so I don't have to pull over so I cruised home. It's a 91 22re miles says 184000 but it's been there for almost 2 years lol. What could have caused this?? I think it's time for A new motor

Wow im lost, power surge and overheating combined???? Um if your runnin out of juice when turning on compressors your battery is TOAST as even the alternator cant keep up with the power being drawn from the battery so yah that should fix that problem. As for your overheating while sitting still that could be caused by numerous things.

Ya I figured that was from the battery I need to get a new one for sure. It didn't quite over heat but got border line into the red an I turn on the heater an it slowly dropped down a little bit. I was low on coolant so I added some hopefully tht helps. I think Ima pull outta my 401k an buy a motor soon. Just to be on the safe side down the road

I'd say test and replace your batt and alternator for your surge. As for heat, if filling your fluid stopped it you should be fine, no need to start dipping into retirement funds when it's not needed. My old Isuzu Amigo ('92) surged during the summer ever since I got it. I drove it for 8 years with no issues. I never could track down the surge though.. lol
