Yeah it is for the swapped 88' I picked up :)

I am going to get a quote for body work(rust elimination & minor dents) and paint soon and go into save mode and I Might as well throw a solid rear in since the sliding mechanism does not work well anyways and since it is much cleaner.

How do you get one of these out of a truck intact? I've got a solid back window in my '86. I've got the slider from my parts truck. I'm interested in swapping them, if I can get each of the windows out intact.

I have not taken glass out of an 84-88 model, but I have taken glass out of an 82' and put glass in. It is not that difficult. Just a matter of using the right amount of flathead screwdrivers in the right places to work out the gasket. To put it in it is the same process but in reverse. :drunk:

I'm in for one. I would love a solid rear so let me know if it all checks out! :drunk:

Use a small rope/cord & soapy water, the rope goes into the rubber gasket with two ends both @ the center bottom, the gasket is on the body & you feed the glass in while pulling one end of the rope out which pulls the gasket over the glass. It's good to have a extra person keeping pressure on the glass.
Goggle it,I'm sure there is a video on this !

    Well, flathead screwdrivers I've got.

I found a box of them at the dump once, so I have a good supply.

The upper rear part of the parts truck cab is off the truck, so it wasn't that hard to position it to get gravity working for me. I started at the top, worked around the driver's side, and got the bottom loose on that side.

I had it off in no time.

And set it up on Pablo to look at the fit.

    Looks good.

The temperature is going to drop this week to where Californians would simply fall over dead. I'll work on it more later.
