Is original patina not an option?

Paint will cost a good bit of money to get a result you're happy with and last. Wrapping is good for a couple years. Finding a good shop is about the same as painting though. My friend had pretty good success doing it himself on his mom's car. Its nearly been on for 4 years and only a few spots are peeling. Dosnt look bad. If you plan on doing it yourself take note of the weather change in your area. Might not be a good time to do it.

    PAINT! 100%

vinyl will bubble, peel, crack, and is just a cover.

a good vinyl job requires a good paint/prep job to lay upon, so why not just have a good paint job?

Dip it! Still needs good prep, but you can play chamelion easy enough.

If you want a permanent, long lasting finish, paint. Nothing can compete with a good paint job!

Dipping is one of the worst to deal with it you get a bad job. Not many people do it anymore for a color change and have gone back to wrapping.

It is an option. Just put it out there as I really prefer paint.

If this is a color change and you have good original paint I would wrap. If you have flaws in a few panels and about 75% of the vehicle is still in good shape then I would get it paint matched then wrap down the road. If not a lick of original paint on it or it's not good then I would plan for the full repaint. I like wrap for the fact it protects paint if you apply and take off right. Also drastic color changes for about the same price as a basic color. No difference if difficulty to apply like paint types.

I would keep the og color. If it's a car I bought it's going to be a color I like. My firewall and engine bay had some of the few spots that had good original paint on it. (Was given the truck.)That's when I really wanted my factory color. The truck was one of those things that made me realized I only want one project at a time that needs major paint work. I was so bummed when I looked at a solar yellow is300 and just about every single panel had clear coat peeling. Literally the color was only reason I had to see it. Never know one day someone could be looking for your color and will pay all your asking. More and more people are importing there dream version of the vehicle they want from guys in America.

Paint it!!! No wrap can give you the sparkle clean look of clear coat. U less you want a flat finish. Wrap is cool for a moment. But the moment some at the grocery store dings it, or you hit some tree branch or brushes and it tears into the wrap, No bueno. Also, wrapping a car can amplify it's flaws if it's not prepped correctly and as it was stated, minus well paint it at that point. It's all up to the owner and his/her goals.
