Well I started working on a HID retro for my yota a while back and im picking it up again..I'm currently using some E46 Bixenon projectors but i'm going to switch to some E55s because they are shorter.as you all know there is limited room behind the passenger headlight with the battery..I picked up some shrouds from a VW GTI and as you can see im drilling out the holes around it and am going to install LEDs in there..Here is what i have so far started with this heating up the headlights to open them up shrouds what it will look like with LEDs BTW i think im going to hook these up to the parking lights what it should look like when done now here is some comparison shots this first one is BOTH halogen bulbs on pretty crappy huh Now here is ONE E46 projector i played with the spacing and shield to get some more color, but again Ill post some pics up when i get the new e55s
no i'm having fitment issues with the battery,so im going to try the e55 as it is a little shorter..if that doesnt work i'll have to relocate the battery..Plus they are not sealed yet..im working on it!!!
Nice work. I have done the same thing. Molded the housing from a infinity j30 projector to a h4 housing. I'll make a set for my truck one day. Where did you get the shroud?
yes i will...i'm using a bi-xenon projector..it has a shield that flips open to let out more light when you hit the brights..when you buy a HID "kit" you will just have lows..unless you buy one of those cheap bi xenon bulbs with the halogen high which is a waste of money and output blows!
