So I've been on a mission to transform my surface rust to some nice patina, but my bed in beyond patina and starting to pit. I'm going to fix it and i was wondering if anyone has put wooden slats in their toyota, you know like the classic Fords? Would it kill the look of the truck? I'm trying to go more towards the "jdm" style. My other option would he just roll some boring bedliner lol

I think for that JDM look you have to use bamboo, but I might be stereotyping

 

i've thought about that as well, I would want to go with a wood like Ipe so that it was nice and durable.

only reason that I havent done this is that I don't really want the added weight.

 

Good point I didn't think about the weight, bamboo should be lighter as thud the troll mentioned. But I'd have to look into it I haven't heard of it being done lol

 

if you want to go with bamboo, maybe look into bamboo flooring, there are a lot of companies making that these days

 

Probably just go with a bedliner maybe I can find one in color. I've been looking into some kind of epoxy paint as well
