would i be able to here anything if my timeing chan snaped? like a rattle or anything when im trying to crank it over?
hey this happened to me 2 times now in my 88 22r, first time it was one of the fuses under the hood, sounded like it wanted to crank but the fuse was blown, changed it, started right up. then the second time the same thing happened but the fuse was fine, but it ended up being the alternator wasn't working good so everything didnt have enough power unless i got a push start to get goin until i changed it. hope one of those helps you too.
Check all the ground connections and everything else. Its the most time consuming but probably the easiest though. Check just to make sure everything is connected and properly connected. Make sure its getting fuel, maybe its the fuel lines. When you say you try to start it with the key, does it make a sound or like a clicking noise? Make sure your alternator is properly grounded and that it works, also check the volts on your battery. I believe it needs between 12-14 volts just while cranking. It could be your alternator or the wiring to the alternator or starter. It seems to make sense that it wants to crank if you try to push start it since its in gear I think it makes the belts turn? Hope I can be of some help man, good luck TP88. Let us know when you find a solution and what got it started again (when you get down that road...)
ResidentG33k like the truck don't click or anything u can clearly here the motor cranking but it don't turn over to start
I like your truck more bro. **** is clean. I can only think maybe a bad ground somewhere or something to do with electrical. Where'd you get your clear corners? Hope you figure it out brah
Ok so first thing i would do is take some gas and pour it directly in the carb and try and start it. that should let you know if its a fuel issue.next i would make sure you're getting spark to all your plugs by pulling them grounding them and cranking the motor..if all is good there i would pull the valve cover off and check the chain and make sure my timming was good. good luck
@ malessohomegrown ya tried all the first not I removed my valve cover and the timing is off by like a tooth or a little more
Where exactly is the cam sprocket at? Can you take a picture? It should be just to the left of the mark on your rocker arm assy.
Malessohomegrown well thx for the in put boys havent had a chanc to keep u guys posted on my prob but I got it fixed I was prity iritated when I found out what it was it was the tiers that sit under the fender on the driver side I guess one of the clipes snaped wich mad my harrnes hang low wich houses my tire to hit the wiers wich started to cut in to them after a 3days of not being able to work on it cuz of work got a day of and stared looking in a dif rout on what it could be and chased every side down and found 3 of them cut in half from my tier so put them back 2nether and started right up
