So the window regulators for the windows with wing windows have 2 sets of teeth on them. The manual crank uses one set. Can you get a toyota regulator motor and bolt it to the other set of teeth?
To have power windows on wing doors? Or to have power windows that also have manual cranks? I know the second part sounds dumb but I want to devise a way to do that on my passenger door on by dodge. I can't reach it while I drive. Thought it would be cool. **wow. 300th post since late July. Haha. Site is almost addictive as the trucks.
Do away with the manual cranks. If you can make both work at the same time on your truck that would be quite the accomplishment. There's provisions for an electric motor on my regulators but electric windows with the wing windows was never an option.
gotcha. my plan is to have the electric regulator inside the door. but instead of solid mounting it, ill have it on a pivot, with an electric solinoid (like a door popper) that pushes it forward to engage it onto the window mechanism. so ill have to use 2 switches, one that engages the gear, and the one that actually powers the motor. because if it was always engaged, it wouldnt be able to turn with the hand crank. i have a few motors from the back gates of 4runners. should be strong enough to lift a dodge door window. i think it would be a real cool trick for people riding shotgun too. lol. they just see the crank and window start moving.
