Hey guys, redoing the carpet and 60/40 bench seat in my truck soon, it's not in bad shape but just dingy and dirty from years of use.

I'm on the fence about the bench seat, I kinda like it and was just going to have it re-packed with material and re-upholstered but the price is around $250.00

Now I see seats on craigslist all the time for that price, M3 seats, seats from Honda's, hell there's a guy with 2006 Escalade seats for sale so I'm not sure if I should get a old seat looking new again or possibly buy new seats.

If I do by seats from another car I would rather it be of the easy mod type - I don't need to try and weld brackets to make the thing fit in, so with that said what seats have you guys put in your trucks that looked good and FIT good, or what have you heard of other people putting in and at what pain level?

    Thanks - OJ

I would stay with the bench. Looks cleaner and correctly placed compared to some other buckets.

Easiest bucket swap i can think of would be 4 Runner buckets.

    Yup.

Toyota Celica seats are close. Two out of four holes fit.

ya you do sit higher. and you lose space behind the seats unlike the bench which leave better space

Interesting - my little kids love to sit in the back, I don't need to encroach in that space as there's not much there to begin with.

to correct myself I meant in a standard cab. if you were planning to put say a sub behind the seats you have more space behind a bench than with stock 4runner buckets

Well, we all know that 4Runner seats would fit fine because they are basically the same as our trucks, but I kinda like the cheap and easy installation where it will fit perfectly with no mods. I've been looking for 80's model 4Runner seats for two years, and when I finally had the opportunity, the owner sold those seats to his friend for his truck. I haven't tried junkyards yet, but they are on my to do list. I have the crappy vinyl seats and my AC doesn't work as of yet - D*** leak, so summers suck, especially here in the Inland Empire.

I have an 84 2wd extra cab and it has the original bucket seats in it, they could use a redo but function perfectly. I am looking to swap them out for a bench. If you are interested let me know. Possibly trade

You would want a torn up vinyl? Well, I guess you could get it reupholstered with cloth, there is a place here in Elsinore that does that if you were to head south on Mission Trail it would be on the right. But I am also wanting to get a center console, but I'll let you know, maybe we could meet in Temecula for the trade?

ok well i say you look way into the future before you spend any money on seats if your planning a b/d later on with a raised floor i suggest you get something that is already pretty low to the floor i know the bench i have it gave me more headroom than civic seats after they were modified i love then bench in my truck now
