I know it's opposite of what everyone else is doing but here's the deal. My 71 Hilux is electric so I don't have vacuum to operate the booster. There are supposedly vacuum pumps that can be used but I am trying to avoid that if possible. Any idea what manual master cylinders would work? Thank you.

Try Willwood. I think you can just one one of their MCs by itself. U should have a vaccum coming off the Intake manifold to hook up to the brake booster tho

no vaccume dude, its an electric motor. They make electric power boosters, but they are pricy, or you can go manual. Hell my power booster barely works anyways so give it a shot and see how it stops without assist.

there is the link for the 12 volt brake booster.

That's the problem. It takes all I got to stop it without the assist. Were any of the Stouts manual brakes?

Seems I was a little hasty in my evaluation of the brakes. I think only one of them was actually working. One of the fronts was leaking so the shoes were soaked and both of the rears had stuck wheel cylinders. What a bone head I am!

You can increase the leverage by having a longer brake pedal, it will make it a easier to push on it.

Do you have the booster still installed? When the booster went out on my Golf one time it felt like it was actually working against the braking system (making it harder to stop), it suddenly didn't just feel like a non-boosted car (like an old VW bug or something) once the booster went out it was really, really hard to stop.
