Now that I have the suspension almost done, I need to tackle the carb. Was wondering what the baseline setup for a 20R is for the jetting. From what it seems like the carb is running lean, has really bad tip-in and idles like crap. Since this carb is supposed to use the same jets and carb kits as the "real" Webers, I figure once I get it dialed in and get a new one I just copy the settings for the new one and it'll be done. I have no idea what I have in there now, but a good baseline will help get it dialed in faster. I have no idea what this had originally or what it came off of, so I need a place to start. this would also be something helpful to put in the facts area, so that anyone looking for it can just look it up real quick. We could post the 22R settings too. Thanks in Advance.
try idle screw 1/2 turn in mixture screw 2 1/2 turns out just a base line, try to get your idle around 700, then slowly start turning the mixture screw in 1/2 turn at a time until the idle changes, then back it out 1/2 turn.
I meant for jetting really. I have the idle going at 900-1000rpm, best I could get. I figure that the bleeds or the jets may be a little lean. The idle mixture screw is almost all the way out. Basically it's so screwed up I wanna know what someone else has jetted theirs with on a stock 20R, set it up, and see how it works, and go from there. I have the out of the box settings for a DFEV 32/36 off the Weber site, but that doesn't mean that's plug and play for a 20R, plus a 22R will need to be jetted richer. Looks like the out of the box settings are: Primary Main jet: 1.37mm Secondary Main jet: 1.40mm Primary Bleed: 1.65mm Secondary Bleed: 1.60mm I'll have to see how my "China" carb is set up. The more I'm looking at this the more I think the power valve is dead.
